Program Description:

This page is intended only for international students who have already been accepted into UConn on an exchange program and have been notified of their acceptance by their home university exchange coordinator.

Incoming International Exchange Students to the Univerisity of Connecticut (UConn) must first be accepted into the exchange by their home university.  UConn currently participates in student exchanges with the following institutions:

  • Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany

  • Fachhochschule Regensburg, Germany

  • Linkoping University, Institute of Technology, Sweden

  • London College of Communication, England

  • MICEFA/Paris, France

  • NEBHE/CREPUQ Québec, Canada

  • Sophia University, Japan

  • National University of Singapore

  • University College Dublin, Ireland

  • University of Essex, England

  • Universidad Favaloro, Argentina

  • Universidad de Magallanes, Chile

  • Universidad de Monterrey, Mexico

  • Uppsala Universitet, Sweden

  • Universidade Federal da Paraiba, Brazil

  • Universidade Federal da Fluminense, Brazil

  • University of New South Wales, Australia

  • University of Olso, Norway

Once you are accepted into the exchange with UConn by your home university and they notify our office, you may begin the next phase of the admittance process.  UConn requires some additional information from you in order for us to prepare for your arrival on campus.  Please follow the steps below carefully. You may want to print this page for reference.

Step 1: Click the "APPLY NOW" button located at the top or bottom of this page.  On the next page, you will see a log-in screen.  Click the blue link that says "New University of Connecticut, USA Applicants, click here to request a login".

Step 2: On the next screen you will be asked to enter some personal information.  Because you are an incoming exchange student, you must check the box in the field titled Partner Institution that says "I affirm that I am a student at University of Connecticut, USA". Click the button to create a new account.  An e-mail will be sent to you with your username and password you can use to log in.

Step 3: Once you receive the e-mail, log-in using the included username and password.  You will then see a screen requesting more personal information.  Complete the Required Student Parameters to the best of your ability.  If you are unsure of an answer, leave it blank.  You are required to enter a Social Security Number.  If you do not have a US Government issued Social Security Number, please enter "999999999".  You must also complete the required address fields.  If your address is formatted differently, please make it fit the best you can.  When you are finished, click the save button at the bottom.

Step 4: On the next screen you must indicate the semester(s) you plan to be at UConn.  If you are coming for the fall semester only, choose "Fall".  If you are coming for the spring semester only, choose "Spring".  If you are coming for both the fall and spring semesters, choose "Academic Year".  Once you have done this, click the button at the bottom to continue.

Step 5:  You are now at your online homepage.  This page gives you an overview of the information you have entered so far and allows you to make any corrections.  To continue to complete your application, click the link on the left called "Incoming International Exchange Students". 

Step 6: You are now at your application homepage.  Please continue by reading the directions on that page regarding the materials you need to submit to our office.  When you return to our site in the future, you can log-in directly by clicking the "log-in" box located in the upper right hand corner of every screen and entering the username and password sent to you in the e-mail.
